Mahyar Salek, PhD

Throughout his career, Mahyar has focused on the development of AI-driven products. Prior to founding Deepcell, he was the lead product manager at Google for offline measurements, which grew to multi-billion dollar revenue during his tenure. He also co-founded and developed Emotiful, one of the earliest apps to use deep learning which ranked at the top of several app stores and app data platforms. Mahyar completed his postdoctoral studies at Microsoft Research Cambridge. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Sharif University of Technology and a PhD in computer science with a focus on algorithms from the University of Southern California. In addition to being a published author and patent inventor, Mahyar has been recognized with awards from the USC Annenberg Graduate Fellowship Program, Center for Applied Mathematics, and Google Area 120.
